The Board of Directors of the Onslow Memorial Hospital (OMH) Foundation recently announced the awarding of a $22,000 grant to Onslow Radiation Oncology. This grant is designated for the purchase of equipment designed to comfortably position patients during breast cancer treatments.

Jennifer Provost, Director of Oncology at OMH, highlighted the importance of this funding: “Onslow Memorial Hospital is dedicated to caring for local people diagnosed with a wide range of cancer conditions. The Foundation’s grant is another positive step in assisting the hospital’s talented oncology team to minimize anxiety and aid recovery for our patients throughout the treatment process.”

Brandon Mills, Chair of the OMH Foundation, reported that Board members voted unanimously in favor of making this grant to support the fight against cancer. “Our dedicated donors enable us to carry out critical initiatives and assist in providing essential services to the people of Onslow County,” Mills stated. “It is always fulfilling to see the tangible impact of fundraising, and how the Foundation can complement the efforts of the gifted caregivers at OMH.”

This year, 150 women in Onslow County are projected to be diagnosed with breast cancer. Onslow Memorial Hospital, a nationally accredited 162-bed medical facility serving Jacksonville and greater Onslow County, is an affiliate of UNC Health Care. The hospital remains committed to delivering high-quality care and supporting the community through essential services and initiatives like this grant.
