The Onslow Memorial Hospital Foundation is excited to share this month’s updates—each one reflecting our ongoing commitment to Caring, Local Impact, and Efficiency. Here’s a quick look at what’s happening:

New Nursing Scholarship Program Launches in Partnership with Coastal Carolina Community College
To help address the critical nursing shortage, Onslow Memorial Hospital has joined forces with Coastal Carolina Community College to offer full financial support to students entering the Associate Degree in Nursing program this fall. Every accepted student will qualify for the new Onslow Memorial Hospital Nursing Scholarship Program, including the Ed Garris Nursing Scholarship.

This initiative covers 100% of tuition, books, and fees, along with a $500 monthly stipend for living expenses—totaling $20,000 over the two-year program. In return, students commit to working at Onslow Memorial Hospital after graduation. It’s a win-win that strengthens the future of healthcare in our region.

Casual for a Cause – A New Way for Employees to Give Back
Thanks to our Human Resources team, OMH employees now have a new way to support the Foundation. For a $50 donation, staff can participate in the Casual for a Cause campaign, which allows them to dress professionally casual one Friday per month. It’s a simple, creative way to raise funds—and a great example of efficient fundraising that brings hospital staff together for a shared purpose.

Welcoming New Leadership to the Foundation
This July, eight new Board Members will be joining the OMH Foundation. Their leadership and fresh perspectives will help strengthen our work and expand our impact across Onslow County. We’re thrilled to have them on board as we continue to serve our community with compassion, focus, and excellence.

Together, we’re building something truly special—thank you for helping make OMH Foundation the talk of our region.
