The Lown Institute is the only national ranking that combines health equity and value of care with patient outcomes. OMH’s high marks reflect excellence in health equity, community benefit, pay equity, and inclusivity—ranking above more than 3,600 hospitals nationwide.

“This recognition is a reflection of our team’s dedication to doing what’s right for every patient, every time,” said Dr. Penney Burlingame Deal, OMH president and CEO. “We prioritize not just clinical excellence, but compassion, transparency, and value in all we do.”

The Lown Index, now in its sixth year, evaluates hospitals using more than 50 measures, including novel metrics such as racial inclusivity, community benefit, and avoidance of overuse. Data sources include Medicare claims, patient safety data from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, hospital cost reports, and IRS 990 forms.

“Hospitals at the top of the index show an enduring commitment to health equity, a dire need today,” said Lown Institute president Vikas Saini. “In this uncertain environment, it’s more important than ever to support these strong community partners.”

OMH’s recognition underscores its role as a trusted healthcare leader committed to improving lives both inside and outside the hospital walls.
