Onslow Memorial Hospital (OMH), in partnership with Coastal Carolina Community College (CCCC), proudly hosted the first official signing day for students entering the newly established OMH Nursing Scholarship Program. The event, held on campus, marked a significant milestone in a community-driven initiative aimed at building a stronger health care workforce for Onslow County.

OMH and Coastal Carolina Community College Launch Nursing Scholarship Program

In a celebration of determination and collaboration, hospital and college leaders came together to recognize the inaugural class of students who will receive full financial support as they pursue an Associate Degree in Nursing. Community leaders, faculty, and family members gathered to show their support for these students—many of whom represent the future of nursing in our region.

Beginning with the 2025–2026 academic year, all students accepted into CCCC’s Associate Degree Nursing program will be eligible for the OMH Nursing Scholarship. The program covers 100% of tuition, books, and mandatory fees, and provides a $500 monthly stipend. This comprehensive support ensures that students can focus on their studies without the added burden of financial stress.

“This program not only supports our future nurses but represents a powerful step forward for the future of health care in Onslow County, and this is just the beginning,” said Taylor Flowers, Senior Vice President of Human Resources at OMH.

The scholarship program reflects a deep commitment by both institutions to investing in local talent and strengthening the pipeline of skilled health care professionals. It’s a textbook example of what’s possible when community partners work together with a shared vision and bold determination.

Onslow Memorial Hospital Foundation is proud to support this initiative and looks forward to seeing the positive, long-lasting impact these future nurses will have on our hospital, our community, and the health care field at large.
