At Onslow Memorial Hospital Foundation (OMHF), we continue to focus on caring for our community, making a local impact, and ensuring efficiency in all we do. We’re excited to share some recent highlights that reflect our commitment to these values.

Julie’s Pink Warrior 5K Project Kickoff

Our volunteers recently hosted a successful kickoff event for the Julie’s Pink Warrior 5K, set to take place on October 19, 2024, at 8:00 AM at Jacksonville Commons. We were thrilled to have Jason Adams of Ni2 Health from Austin, Texas, join us as the primary race sponsor. After experiencing the energy and enthusiasm of everyone involved, Jason expressed his excitement and pledged to return as the primary sponsor for the 2025 race as well.

This 5K event is not just about running—it’s about supporting local women by funding mammograms through the Julie Pink Warrior Project. We invite everyone to sign up and join the fun while contributing to a critical cause. You can register for the race here.

Grant for CPR Mannequins

We’re proud to announce that the OMH Foundation recently approved a grant to purchase CPR mannequins for use by our Emergency Room personnel. These mannequins will enable our dedicated staff to conduct CPR presentations throughout Onslow County, equipping more people with the skills that could save lives. Our ER personnel volunteer their time to seek out opportunities to educate the community, and this grant will enhance their ability to do so effectively.

Partnering with the Salvation Army

In an effort to address food insecurities among our cancer patients, OMHF is partnering with The Salvation Army of Onslow and Jones County. This collaboration will provide much-needed support to patients in our Cancer Department who are facing food challenges while undergoing treatment. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the staff, volunteers, and Board Members of The Salvation Army for their dedication and for making this partnership a reality. Together, we are making a tangible impact on the lives of those fighting cancer in our community.

These initiatives underscore our commitment to caring for our community, making a local impact, and operating with efficiency. We are grateful for the continued support of our volunteers, sponsors, and partners, who make it possible for us to serve Onslow County in meaningful ways.

Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to work together for a healthier, stronger community.
