OMH Foundation Announces $10,000 Gift

Officials at Onslow Memorial Hospital Foundation reported a recent $10,000 donation earmarked to benefit the emergency room services and victims of sexual abuse. The funds come from a Donor Advised Fund gift from an anonymous North Carolina donor.

“The generous gift is a perfect example of how some people select to make a huge impact throughout our region, but make that impact in a very quiet, unassuming fashion,” reported Thomas Giffin, executive director of the OMH Foundation.

The gift continues to expand the efforts of the OMH Foundation to make an impact across various departments throughout the hospital.

“A donor-advised fund is established for the sole purpose of supporting charitable organizations you care about, and our conversations leading up to the gift focused on the fact that OMH’s Emergency Room sees over 150 individuals each and every day, 24/7. Plus, the donor also wanted to make a difference with victims of sexual and domestic violence,” said Giffin. “The final result was funds intersecting with the Foundation’s mission, resulting in major gift from a donor that we are grateful to call a friend.”
