The 2024–2025 fiscal year marked a powerful season of growth and generosity for the Onslow Memorial Hospital Foundation. While fundraising success exceeded expectations, the real story lies in the lives impacted across the hospital and community—proof that the Foundation’s reach extends far beyond dollars raised.
This past year, the Foundation expanded its support across more hospital departments and throughout Onslow County. We helped ensure patients could access care by providing transportation to the hospital for essential services. We addressed food insecurity for local families and are laying the groundwork to extend this initiative further in the coming year.
Community education was another key focus. With mannequins funded by the Foundation, hospital staff conducted hands-only CPR demonstrations for civic groups and local businesses, empowering everyday citizens to save lives.
Through generous donations and strategic partnerships, we provided car seats for newborns, distributed diapers and hygiene supplies, and helped launch a prescription program in the Emergency Department. We supported training for Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners and began preparations for a Mental Health First Aid seminar for both hospital employees and local nonprofit teams. Plans are also underway to expand hospice services for Onslow County residents. And in a lasting investment for the future, the Ed Garris Nursing Scholarship was not only launched but fully endowed.
Our success was only possible through partnerships rooted in shared purpose. We worked with the Salvation Army, Onslow County’s Extension Office, and the Onslow Victim’s Center, while also receiving invaluable support from the Jacksonville Rotary Club. The Julie’s Pink Warrior 5K once again drew strong support from the Jacksonville-Onslow Sports Commission, and the Coastal Carolina Community Foundation joined us in nurturing tomorrow’s healthcare professionals.
As we close one fiscal year and begin another, we do so with fresh momentum and renewed purpose. July 1 marks the start of a new chapter—new goals to exceed, new partnerships to form, and more opportunities to deliver care that is local, impactful, and efficient.
